What our Clients are saying:
"I feel taller, leaner and more toned. Kris has helped me become aware of my skeletal & muscular imbalances and we work on just me to strengthen those areas! I love how I look and feel. :)" - Debbie
"Five years ago, I had a very extensive spine reconstruction surgery. Since then, I have done everything possible to improve my physcial health by working out regularly 5 times a week. Each year my body has gotten stronger and at 49 years old I knew that the time had come to push my body a little further. One day I saw a sign for the Pilates Reformer class with Kris Richie. I had informally known Kris for years and decided to schedule a class with her. That was 6 months ago. All I can say to her is thank you. As strong as my body was becoming through cardio strengthening and weightlifting, my core and stomach muscles were weak. The lack of strength in those areas often caused me back pain. Since taking class with Kris, I cannot believe the changes in my body and in my core. I feel strong, stand straighter, walk taller and my back feels the best it has ever felt in my life. I love Pilates. I look forward to going to my class 2 times a week. I also look forward to spending time with Kris who as an instructor balances encouragement with enthusiasm. In the beginning many of the moves felt awkward to me, but Kris consistently pushed me forward improving my confidence and constantly reminding me that my body was strong and capable. As I face turing 50 in August, I know that in so many ways my body has never been stronger and healthier thanks to the challenging and rewarding classes taught by Kris Riche. Thanks." - Patti
"In the summer of 2005, I severely injured my right foot following an accident on a skim board. I was told by two orthopedic physicians to 'give it time' to heal. I could not walk without pain. As an avid swimmer, I was unable to kick with my right leg. In the meantime, my body began compensating for the pain that was evident in my foot. Essentially the muscles on the right side of my body went out of wack. In the fall of 2006, I consulted another orthopedic physician who prescribed custom orthodics for my feet. In the span of a year, I had lost 2 cm of muscle on my right calf when compared to my left calf. The summer of 2007, I began seeing a chiropractor, a minimum of twice a week. This helped to relieve the pain I was experiencing in my foot, calf, thigh and pelvic areas, but it was always temporary relief. In June of 2008, I began training with Kris. As a result, my muscles are becoming less contorted, and more aligned, as confirmed by the chiropractor. My visits to the chiropractor have been reduced to one visit every two weeks. Remarkably, I am able to swim, using my whole body, without pain. I am now able to perform chores around the house (exs. manually mowing the grass, crawling around in a low height attic) without experiencing severe pain at the completion of the task. I find my whole body is loosening - neck, back, hips, all the way down to my feet. When a muscle tenses, Kris has equipped me with a repertoire of stretches and exercises that I can do to eliminate the discomfort. I have found Kris to be extremely knowledgeable about the body and how it performs. She is very patient, understanding, and supportive. I have one profound regret about working with Kris... that I did not begin training with her sooner!"

"I was first introduced to Pilates two years ago by Kris Richie, who has always been an excellent instructor and friend. She knows my strengths and weaknesses so we know what to work on. Since her studio opened in June, I've been using the reformer as well. I never thought using the reformer would be so challenging but it has proved to be a great complement to my mat workout. Now, as a woman approaching fifty, I've never felt more revitalized and healthy. It's not easy and definitely takes a high level of commitment to undertake a Pilates regimen, but it has greatly increased my flexibility, core strength and upper body strength. I feel much more stronger and look more toned. I have seen and felt my body change, and my posture has improved. This is the kind of exercise routine that you can benefit from for a lifetime. I recommend her studio to anybody looking to make a hugely positive impact on their mind, body, and overall well-being. Starting a Pilates regimen is one of the best things you can do for your body, and Kris' studio, Core Awareness, is the perfect place to start." - Gigi
"I first started doing Pilates because my friends were doing it. What I found happening was that the tightness in my neck and shoulders was getting looser, I could move better, and my abs were getting flatter and stronger, which helped my back. I then tried the reformer. I loved it and my range of motion keeps getting better and better each time I use the machine. I feel stronger and leaner. Thanks to Kris first, and her classes, I feel much better about myself. She's not only an excellent instructor, she became my friend in the process." -Barbara
"A regular pilates practice is one of the best things you can do for your body. I started pilates about 2 years ago and since then I've noticed a huge difference in how I look and feel and have eliminated low back pain. I have found that pilates enhances my yoga practice as well. Pilates helps you develop an awareness of the mind-breath-body connection and allows you to harness the energy within. Kris focuses on the individual needs of the student in a comfortable, nurturing atmosphere while teaching the fundamentals of pilates on all levels. I recommend it for everyone!"
